Empowering Rural Students Through Quality Education

Established in the year 1966, Thiru Kolanjiappar Government Arts College, Vriddhachalam is one of the prestigious Government Arts Colleges in Tamil Nadu, committed to providing quality higher education for rural and economically weaker students.

The institution was initially started as a Pre-University College in the municipal town of Vriddhachalam and later shifted to its present spacious campus with more than 42 acres of land donated by the authorities of Sri Vriddhagireeswarar Temple.

The authorities of Sri Kolanjiappar Temple generously contributed financial support for introducing undergraduate programmes such as B.A. History and B.A. Tamil Literature. Later, several Arts, Science, Commerce and Research programmes were introduced.

The institution continuously expanded with new departments including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, Zoology, Botany, Commerce, English and many more, providing opportunities for higher education to thousands of students every year.

The college is affiliated with Thiruvalluvar University and accredited by NAAC for maintaining excellence in teaching, discipline, research and student development.
